II · Playtest Sessions

We plan and host structured playtests, record where players hesitate or disagree, and return a written summary with suggested rule changes.

What we look at

  • Teaching time: how long it takes from opening the box to the first turn.
  • Stopping points: where players stop to check the book or ask each other.
  • Disagreements: which rules different players read in different ways.
  • Pace: which phases of a session run too long or too short.

What you receive

  • A playtest plan: player counts, number of sessions, what to watch, and a record sheet.
  • Observation notes from each session.
  • A written summary listing issues, how often they came up, and suggested rule changes.

What this does not include

  • Recruiting paid testers or public promotion; participants are agreed in writing by both sides.
  • Forecasts of a game's commercial prospects.

Questions

Where do sessions take place?
Location and format are agreed in writing before work starts. Sessions can be at a physical table or run remotely over video.
Are participants named in the notes?
No. Notes record seat numbers, not participant names.
