A store page is a rules summary for strangers

Notebook ยท On the screen

A person browsing an app store has no rulebook and no friend at the table to explain. They have a few lines of text, a few screenshots, and a thumb that can swipe away at any moment.

So a store page has to work like a rules summary. It needs to answer four questions: what the game is, how long a session takes, who it suits, and what data it collects. The first three decide whether someone wants to play. The fourth decides whether they trust the game.

The order of screenshots is a rule too. The first image says what this is. The second shows what a turn looks like. Advanced content comes after. It is tempting to lead with the most dramatic image, but if it does not match how the game plays, the player's first session will disappoint.

The last point is the easiest to miss: the store page, the in-app text, and the website should use the same names and wording. The privacy policy URL should open, and the support email should get a reply. Strangers will not praise you for being consistent, but they will leave when you are not.
